TL;DR — renew Staworth Limited’s engagement for an additional 6 months at a cost of $12,000 per month.

Background

In January 2025, Staworth received approval for an initial engagement for the DAO, covering financial reporting, non-reserved legal services, and support among a range of other functions for the DAO. That proposal was renewed in January and April 2026.

This proposal covers an extension of our mandate for a further 6 months — in line with the longer term of the main Contributor Funding proposal — on substantially the same terms. We have worked hard in the first 6 months of 2026 to increase our contributions and set Beefy on the right path; now we’re asking for the support to double down on this approach for the rest of the year.

For more information on our background, please see the Who Are We? section of our previous proposal [BIP:86].

Contributions

Below we detail the major work we’ve undertaken so far in 2026. Please see our earlier proposal for more information on our work in 2025. Our work includes:

  • Shipped ~130 distinct strategies in 2026 so far, averaging ~5 per week. We continue to expand our skills across new strategies, protocols, chains and issues. With a few new chain and protocol launches scheduled for Q3, we continue to grow our role as a key contributor helping to lead the biggest developments in Beefy’s operations.
  • Developed tooling to support deploying and managing Beefy products, including an app for assembling routes and oracles and a system for analysing CLM performance.
  • Led a selection of data handling work for accounting, Dune dashboards and ad hoc analyses of performance, finances, and activities from underlying protocols. This includes key BD requirements like incentive dashboards and point calculations.
  • Issued the 2025 annual report and the 2026 Q1 report for a detailed overview of Beefy’s activities and financial position. Continued our collaboration with Octav to approve accounting and reporting processes.
  • Led recovery efforts relating to incidents and exploits, including the Kelp DAO hack, the Gnosis distribution from the Balancer hack and the USR exploit. Continued to lead the response to the Stream finance situation, including speaking with Stream’s advisors and guiding users on submitting claim information forms.
  • Provided detailed legal support in handling partnerships and procurement contracts, including our grant from Monad, our incentives partnership with Base, our renewal with ChainPatrol and our service agreement with Goldsky.
  • Growing our work with the community and our moderators, including co-hosting the first public Q&A session in 2 years, answering several dozen questions with candid opinions and updates.
  • Published 7 articles so far in 2026. Collaborated over marketing plans for the launch of Crosschain Zaps, Ethereum CLMs and new chains like Robinhood and MegaETH.
  • Continued to maintain messaging and knowledge across the project, through our documentation, blog posts, website copy, moderation guidance and knowledge base articles.
  • Helped to manage the Core team’s administration and strategy by leading meetings, keeping regular notes and maintaining strategy documents and action lists to help align on direction.

Goals

The first half of 2026 has been crucial for the survival of DeFi. Although conditions remain challenging, the first signs of change are beginning to emerge, and we are fortunate that Beefy has survived and been strengthened by the recent bearish markets.

In the second half of 2026, we propose to double down on our existing work, continuing to focus on expanding development contributions while keeping our other competences in good order to support Beefy’s growth:

  • Helping to lead on the deployment of new chains, and new protocols on existing chains (including the new Aero protocol and the rollout of Robinhood Chain).
  • Continuing to build out and maintain the systems we have devised for accelerating and strengthening deployment and product maintenance.
  • Growing the DAO’s voice through more public discussions and appearances, and a continued focus on community engagement.
  • Prudent accounting, forecasting and management of Beefy’s financials to ensure a close tracking of performance, risks and opportunities.
  • Proactive management of Beefy’s legal position and communications with users and stakeholders regarding ongoing legal matters, each to ensure safety and stability for the project and space for focus on core revenue-generating activities.
  • General support with business development and partner relations as we strive to capitalise on significant opportunities like new chain launches. This includes supporting some marketing initiatives with content and execution.

Budget

Our proposed budget is $12,000 per month for the next 6 months. This reflects a $3,000 increase, matched by $3,000 in decreases for the main contributor budget, leaving the total budget for contributor funding at the same level.

Since the start of 2026, we have significantly increased our involvement with development work as well as our overall level of responsibility across the project, all while maintaining our existing responsibilities. This aligns with other movements across the core team, as various contributors have changed their level of engagement. After 6 months of change, the team has conducted a rebalancing to match funding to contribution and properly incentivise those who have increased their responsibilities and output.

This increase places us among the largest contributors to the DAO. We believe this is reflective of the value we contribute to the project, as well as the increase in workflow in 2026 so far. We hope the DAO will be satisfied with the proposed change, and are happy to answer any questions about the changes in our role.

Terms

This arrangement will be subject to Staworth’s independent contractor terms throughout.
In addition, the following supplementary terms shall apply specifically for Beefy DAO:

  • Conflicts of Interest - where any apparent conflict of interest is identified in any of the work to be performed by Staworth under this engagement, whether by Staworth, Beefy or third parties, either Staworth or Beefy shall be entitled to halt that work immediately without explanation. Staworth shall create and maintain a conflicts policy and register, as a means of safeguarding against conflicts.

  • Independent Interests - subject to any provisions and policies relating to conflicts of interest, nothing in this agreement shall impact the rights of Staworth and its contributors to hold or action their own independent views and interests in matters of the Beefy DAO’s governance. Staworth and its contributors shall always retain the right to abstain without explanation on any governance matters.

  • Split Services and Expenses - there may be circumstances where Staworth provides services in parallel for multiple clients (e.g. attending conferences with opportunities to represent 2 or more projects). In such circumstances, Staworth will always report the existence of such a split to all client contributor teams, together with an indication of the likely division of its efforts between them. Where any expenses are incurred in relation to split services, Staworth will offer to split the funding of its expenses in line with its expected efforts for each client.

If approved, this engagement will commence on 1 August 2026 and proceed to the end of January 2027. A further engagement proposal will be provided towards the end of this engagement.

Proposal

Beefy DAO should renew its engagement with Staworth for another 6 months at a cost of $10,000 + 20% VAT ($12,000 total) per month.
